Solar Dude and California's Solar Revolution...

Solar Energy's time has finally come.

It's true for economic reasons: the manufacturing costs of solar photovoltaic panels are dropping, even as the cost of oil goes through the roof; but also because of factors like climate change, global competition, and concerns about public health.

But the solar revolution is still moving very slowly. It's not yet apparent to the average American that it's in our best interests to pursue energy efficiency and alternative energy with a zeal our country once displayed for the space program.

As a resident of the Golden State, I think it's up to California to lead the way. California has led the way before. with vehicle emission standards, zero-emission standards and countless other laws and initiatives. Now the state should pull together and inspire the country once again.

So the Solar Dude is on the story. I'll be reporting news and views from the front line of the solar revolution. I'll track new technology, interview major players, examine new solar installations and we'll have a few beers and some fun along the way.

Viva la Solar Revolution!
